Los máximos galardones del festival son de fuerte simbología: “LA LUPA Y EL IMÁN”. Se trata de dos elementos íntimamente relacionados con la figura del insigne cinemista granadino José Val del Omar (1904-1982), quien consideraba la lupa como un símbolo de la cultura occidental (lo visible, lo racional), contrapuesto al imán, elemento de la cultura oriental (el magnetismo, la intuición, lo invisible). Según Val del Omar, Granada sería el punto de encuentro entre Oriente y Occidente.

The first and highest award of the contest has a strong symbology: “THE MAGNIFIER AND THE MAGNET”. It’s about two elements connected very close with the person of the famous granadian cinemist José Val del Omar (1904-1982), who thought about the magnifier as occidental culture symbol (the obvious, the rational) against the magnet, element of the oriental culture (the magnetism, the invisible). For Val del Omar, Granada will be the meeting point between East and West.

Le premier prix et la plus grande distinction du festival est un symbole fort: “LA LOUPE ET L’AIMANT”. Il s’agit de deux éléments étroitement liés à la figure emblématique du cinémiste grenadin José Val del Omar (1904-1982), qui considérait la loupe comme un symbole de la culture occidentale (ce qui est visible, rationnel, analytique), et son opposé l’aimant, comme un élément de la culture orientale (le magnétisme, l’invisible, l’intuitif). Selon Val del Omar, Grenade serait le point de rencontre entre l’Orient et l’Occident.
